Dr. El-Roy Dixon was born in Jamaica and migrated to United States in 1979 to further his education. He completed his Associates Degree in Pre-Med Studies at West Indies SDA College in Mandeville, Jamaica. He then completed his college degree in Medical Technology (MT, ASCP) in 1981 at Andrews SDA University, Berrien Springs, Michigan. He was an Honor Student and Graduated Suma Cum Laude. Dr. Dixon then worked for approximately 7 years as a Medical Technologist, then went back to medical school at Rush University where he completed his medical degree in 1991. Dr. Dixon graduated in the top 1/3 of his class. Dr. Dixon went on to complete a transitional internship at West Suburban Hospital and Medical Center, Oak Park, Illinois. Then completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics, Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Dixon is now practicing General Ophthalmology in Albany, Georgia at Dixon Eye Care. Dr. Dixon is a board Certified Ophthalmologist. Dr. Dixon enjoys golfing, bicycling, and chess. Dr. Dixon gives back to the community by volunteering at the Samaritan Clinic, and Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Junior Academy teaching Middle School Science.
